New bridges going up thanks to Kerry and friends! This functional art is not in the Community Forest but the cedar rungs were harvested there. This particular log was burnt decades ago and has been standing dead. Note the char and the tight grain. Old burnt cedar rungs are strong, grippy and rot resistant. The ecosystem is providing the optimal building material. Amazing. Thanks Cedar. Thanks Kerry.
