We had a crew of 4 on our summer trail crew this season from the end of June until the end of August. They frequented the Chilliwack Community Forest trails, Little Mountain trails, and many other local trails! As most of the crew was new, we kept to more simple projects such as trimming overgrowth and doing routine maintenance.
Some exciting projects crew worked on:
- Slollicum Lake Loop trail: a completely new section from the lake to the trailhead has been scouted and flagged. A proper trail has not been dug yet, but orange markers have been put up to make the route navigable.
- Illal Meadows trail: crew trimmed some overgrowth. This trail is a beautiful hidden spot away from the crowds!
- Community Forest Spotlem Trail: maintenance on berms
- Community Forest Big Blue Trail: helped volunteer to finish an additional section on this trail
